WASTEWATER PIPE INSPECTION PROJECT – EFFECTS ACCESS TO PARKING OUTSIDE SCHOOL

Tue May 10 01:02pm

Hello families.  Hydrotech Group will be performing Wastewater Pipe Inspection work the length of Shamrock Street between Tuesday 10th May to Friday 13th May 2022.

The hours of work will be between 7.30am to 6.30pm, during which time traffic management may be in place to assist traffic. Access to parking outside the school will be possibly be very limited during these times.

They are hoping to clear the road by the school during drop off and pick up times but if this is not the case then please drive carefully onto the school grounds to pick up your child.  Staff will be available to help direct your child and keep everyone safe.

Thank you for your understanding and co-operation while we navigate this issue for the rest of the week.

Blessings for your evening

Welcome to Term 2. We hope the term break has gone well for you all.

Sun May 01 05:08pm

We look forward seeing you again tomorrow. We will have our wonderful Road Patrollers out for the start of the term and hope we can continue with this for now. We encourage those children from Year 4 upwards to continue to wear their face masks – teachers will be continuing to use them. We ask anyone who comes onto the school grounds to also do so to better protect our school family as we head into the cooler months

We have many wonderful things planned for the term – please see our newsletter this week for these dates. This includes cross country, planned trips to the Cathedral, Matariki celebrations, and three way conferences later in the term.

We are so excited to see you all again tomorrow

MOVING TO ORANGE LEVEL NEXT TERM

Wed Apr 13 04:40pm

THE LATEST FROM THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION – ORANGE LEVEL

Kia ora koutou, Hello everyone…

You’ll be aware that Minister of Education Chris Hipkins has announced the move to Orange at 11:59pm tonight. We have been asked to keep things the same for the last day of the term tomorrow.

The decision to move to Orange has been made on public health advice and reflects that we are moving past the peak of cases and our health system is able to cope. We are seeing that cases are declining due to high levels of vaccination and natural immunity after infection.

We wanted to give you an update on what the move to Orange means for our school.

At Orange, face masks are no longer required at school. However public health advice is that masks continue to be strongly encouraged when indoors. Wearing a mask is a key health measure that slows the spread of COVID-19 in indoor settings. For that reason, we ask that visitors to the school, including parents and whānau, wear a mask whenever they are indoors on school grounds.

We also ask that your child (if they are Year 4+) continues to bring a mask to school every day. There may be times that we’ll ask them to wear a mask, too – for example, when we are having an assembly in the hall. If there are a high number of cases at school or in the community, we may ask that masks are worn in classrooms for a time.

We will continue to keep all the other health measures in place at school that we know slow the spread of COVID-19. These include ensuring our indoor spaces are well-ventilated, maintaining good hand hygiene and cough and sneeze etiquette, appropriate physical distancing whenever we can and, most importantly, staying home if we are sick.

We are looking forward to a few less restrictions and returning to school life that is a bit closer to normal.

Ngā mihi,

Easter blessings to you all

OUTSTANDING SCHOLASTIC BOOK CLUB ORDERS

Tue Apr 12 03:59pm

Hello there.  This message is for anyone waiting for Scholastic Book Club orders. I have received an email from Scholastic Book Club explaining that they are having freight delays beyond their control.

Their warehouse is working to despatch them to you before the end of term.  However it is possible that some schools may not receive their orders until school returns.

Thank you for your patience and understanding regarding this matter.

Kind regards Karen Worsley

Good morning on this day of Peace for the Ukraine.

Fri Mar 25 09:58am

Thank you all for your amazing generosity. We are just counting this up and will let you know as soon as our leaders and Mrs Worsley have a total. We only have half of our school population today so we are truly grateful. Our children today prayed their little hearts out for peace in the Ukraine. You would be so proud of them – we are.

Abundant blessings to you all –

We ask that you monitor your child carefully over the weekend for any symptoms and please keep your child at home if they become unwell.

If your child is isolating due to being a household contact and at any time they test positive could you please contact the school office and inform Karen.

Have a wonderful weekend and stay safe.

A gentle reminder that our school day begins at 8.55am for your child.

Thu Mar 17 01:32pm

We know that for us all there are many things happening in our busy lives and we appreciate this.

We are just writing to share that we are seeing an increase in children arriving late to school which is unsettling for the child as well as the classroom environment. Many rich conversations and checkins with children happen before school as well as during our classroom prayer time first thing in the morning.

We will now be closely monitoring arrival times of children and will be in touch to discuss this further should we need too.

Thank you for support of your child’s learning and our school.

Blessings

All of our staff are well for now and classes are open, with teachers beginning to place activities on Seesaw for those at home. There is also Reading Eggs, Mathletics and Stepsweb as well as the hard pack activities to use.  Please keep in touch with the school as we are required to notify the Ministry of Education with our daily case numbers.
