Virtue of the Week

Respect – Whaka-ute

Respect is an attitude of caring about people and treating them with dignity. Respect is valuing ourselves and others. We show respect by speaking and acting with courtesy. When we are respectful we treat others as we want to be treated. Respect includes honouring the rules of our family or school, which makes life more orderly and peaceful. It is knowing that every man, woman and child deserves respect, including you.

We practice whaha-ute when we:

  • treat others as we want to be treated
  • speak courteously to everyone
  • take special care of other people’s belongings
  • are receptive to the wisdom of elders
  • honour the rules of our family, school and nation
  • expect respect for our body and our rights

Reflection of the week

TrinityLast Sunday was Trinity Sunday. The focus of the readings was the experience of God
acting in our lives in various ways. We have no adequate language for God, because God is beyond any single image we may have. We experience God in Jesus Christ who shares with us his experience of God, as creator, redeemer, and as a person of intimate relationship. Our experience of this relationship is the Spirit of God living in us.

Appreciation Spot

Thank you to Donna Brown and Father Vaughan for their work in preparing our students for receiving their First Holy Communion this Sunday.

School Notices

School Cross Country
This is to be held on Tuesday,  June 7, at Rangitane Park which is off Maxwell’s Line starting a 1pm.
All students must be in their full school PE uniform.  The children will be bussed to and from the venue. There is an expectation that all children stay until the end of the last race as we are there to support one another until the end.
If you wish to take your child home from the park a the end of the day please let their teacher or myself know so they can be accounted for.

We are the third school up on the programme.
