Term 2 Week 10 2016
Nga mihi nui ki a koutou
Welcome to the last week of the term. As school closes this Friday at 3pm for the holidays, I take this opportunity to wish you all a wonderful break and look forward to your return on July 25.
Congratulations to our senior kapahaka group who performed so well at the Catholic School’s Whanaugnatanga last Friday. They were a certainly a credit to our school.
Enjoy your week,

Virtue of the Week
Compassion – Pa-te-aroha
Compassion is having kind feelings toward someone who is hurt or troubled. It is caring deeply and wanting to help, even if you don’t know them. It is being kind and forgiving to someone who has hurt you.
We practice pa-te-aroha when we:
- notice when someone is hurt or needs a friend
- imagine how they must be feeling
- take time to show that we care
- ask how they are and listen patiently
- forgive others when they make mistakes
- do some service to help a person or an animal in need
Reflection of the week
The focus of this Sunday’s readings is on the total love of God. Both the Old and New Testament present this as a commandment, not an option or just an ideal. One cannot be an authentic believer without following this commandment; it is at the heart of our relationship with God.
The Gospel is the Parable of The Good Samaritan. In this parable Jesus tells us that God wants us to care for one another.
Thank you to Whaea Frayne for her work in preparing the senior kapahaka group for their performance last Friday at the Catholic Schools Whanaugnatanga.
Thank you to each kapahaka group member who provided food stuffs for the hamper we donated to St Vincent de Paul.
