Nga mihi nui ki a koutou
Welcome to the new term. I hope you all managed to get some time to relax and enjoy the holidays.
We are all set for a full on term. Our main focus is preparing for our production which is to be held in the last week.
We will be hosting the Year 5/6 Rippa Rugby tournament here on August 24 and on September 4 we have our parish/school mass and pancake breakfast.
Enjoy your week,
Jacinta Cousins, Principal
Virtue of the Week
Co-operation – Mahi-tahi
Co -operation is working together for the good of everyone. It is a willingness to respect others and to follow rules which keep everyone safe and happy. Cooperation is being helpful to one another, sharing the load. It is joining others in order to do something that cannot be done alone.
We practice mahi-tahi when we:
- work well with others
- freely offer our help and ideas
- follow the rules
- do our part to keep a safe, happy environment
- when we disagree, do it peacefully
- ask for help when we need it.
Reflection of the week
his week’s Gospel condemns greed not because greedy people go to hell but because greedy people construct their own hell on earth.
Greed traps people in hell by keeping them from the best part of life, that which matters to
God – sacrifice for others; service to the poor; relationships based on character, not appearance. You build a life – and find real happiness – by using your talents for others and putting their needs first.
Thank you to Louise Sheehan, Whaea Frayne and all the parents who came along to support the kapahaka group at the Catholic schools’ cultural festival.
Thank you to those in the school community who came to the farewell assembly for Mr Meyer.
