Virtue of the Week
Humility – Ngakau Papaku
When you are humble you don’t act as if you are more important than other people. You are happy to serve others and think other people’s needs are important. You don’t expect others or yourself to be perfect. You don’t criticise others or yourself. You admit mistakes and learn from them. Sometimes mistakes are our best teachers.
We practice ngakau papaku when we:
- consider the needs of others as important as our own
- apologise and make amends when we hurt others
- learn from our mistakes and keep changing for the better
- ask for help when we need it
- are doing our best just to do it, not to impress anyone
- are grateful instead of boastful
Reflection of the week
This Sunday’s readings deal with the theme of eternal life.
Life is not a journey to nowhere. It is a journey to the promised land of eternal life.
Let us reflect on the great hope that God in his love holds out to us. Jesus, the Good Shepherd, is our leader in this journey of hope.
Thank you to those in the school community who came along to mass on Sunday to support those children who were baptised.
Coming home tonight on a separate notice is an update about the Community of Learning our school is involved in.
A reminder to bring in your order forms. Photos are being taken on Wednesday, November the 9th starting at 9am.
These are scheduled to be held on Tuesday, November 22.
