Nga mihi nui ki a koutou
Well winter has well and truly arrived. I hope you are all managing to stay well and warm.
Several students have come down with chicken pox at present so please be on the look out for this especially if your child has not yet had them and becomes unwell.
Enjoy your week ,

Virtue of the Week
Respect – Whaka-ute
Respect is an attitude of caring about people and treating them with dignity.
Respect is valuing ourselves and others.
We show respect by speaking and acting with courtesy.
When we are respectful we treat others as we want to be treated.
Respect includes honouring the rules of our family or school, which make life more orderly and peaceful.
It is knowing that every man, woman and child deserves respect including you.
We practice whaka-ute when we
- treat others as we want to be treated
- speak courteously to everyone
- take special care of other people’s belonging
- are receptive to the wisdom of elders
- honour the rules of our family, school and nation
- expect respect for our bodies and rights
Reflection of the week
Jesus said to his apostles, “Peace I leave with you, my own peace I give you,” These lovely words are addressed to us today. Jesus wants us too to have his peace.
The Lord makes peace possible for us when things such as fears, anxieties, problems, worries, difficult relationships etc rob us of peace. He calms our fears and eases our anxieties.
He supports us when we are weak, and raises us up when we fall.
He gives use peace this world cannot give.
This is to be held on Friday, June 9, at Rangitane Park which is off Maxwell’s line starting at 1pm. All students must be in their full PE uniform, shoes are optional.
The students will be bussed to and from the park but if you wish to take your child home from the park that is fine as long as you let their teacher know.
The PTFA will be running a sausage sizzle down at the park. More details regarding this will be in subsequent newsletters.
