Nga mihi nui ki a koutou
Lots to be thankful for this week.
Thank you to those of you who came along to support your child and others at our school cross country on Friday.
Thank you also to the staff for all their efforts in encouraging and preparing the children for this event and to Mr Anderson and Mr Ravenhill for setting up the course.
Thanks to the PTFA for providing the sausage sizzle.
Enjoy your week ,

Virtue of the Week
Forgiveness – Muruhara
Being forgiving is giving someone another chance after they have done something wrong, knowing that everyone makes mistakes. It is making amends instead of taking revenge. It is important to forgive yourself too. Forgiving yourself means to stop punishing yourself or feeling hopeless because of a mistake. Forgiveness is moving ahead, ready to act differently, with compassion for yourself and faith that you can change.
We practice muruhara when we:
- remember that everyone makes mistakes
- take responsibility for our own mistakes
- share our feelings without taking revenge
- stop giving uncaring people the chance to hurt us
- accept people without judgement or criticism
- make amends instead of punishing ourselves with guilt
Reflection of the week
The Church believes that God’s very self is a relationship – Creator, Son, and Holy Spirit, and that relationship pours love into the world.
Just like God, relationships are central to our nature too. Our friendships build us up or tear us down. They help us fulfil our dreams or they get in the way.
The gospel on Sunday stated that Trinity, this God of relationships, seeks to save the world, not condemn it.
Do your friends challenge you to live a holier life? Do you hang out with people who inspire you to goodness and compassion? Is the world around you and your friends a better place when you all get together?
First Sacrament Programme.
Just a reminder to all children who are making their First Communion this year that the final session is tomorrow evening, Wednesday, June 14 at 6.30pm in the Foyer of the church.
The children will be making their First Communion this Sunday at 10am. Hopefully we will see some of you at this special mass in support of these children.

A notice went home last week seeking your help. Have you returned it yet? We could do with a few more offers to deliver pamphlets especially at Summerhill, Terrace End & Hokowhitu areas. Also there are still 4 ringing lists still looking for a willing person to complete. A “BIG” thank you to all the families who have offered to take a ringing list (2 already returned and well executed) and deliver pamphlets. Your contribution to the school and fundraising is very much appreciated.
