Term 3   Week 4  2017

Dear Parents/Caregivers
Nga mihi nui ki a koutou

Thank you on behalf of myself, Mrs Davis and our families for your prayers, cards, presence at the funeral, and your love and support in the death of our dear mother last week. Being part of a catholic community brings such comfort and hope in these sad times. God bless you all.

Enjoy your week,
Jacinta Cousins, Principal

Virtue of the Week

Peacefulness – Rangimarie

Peacefulness is an inner sense of calm that can come in moments of silent gratitude or prayer.
It is getting very quiet and looking at things so you can understand them.
It is facing your fears and then letting them go.
It is trusting that things will be all right.
Peacefulness is giving up the love of power for the power of love.
Peace in the world begins with peace in your heart.

We practice rangi-marie when we:

  • take time to pray
  • give our worries to God and ask God’s help in solving them
  • use peaceful language, even when we are angry
  • avoid harming anyone
  • appreciate differences
  • give up the love of power for the power of love

Reflection of the week

Today we celebrate the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

The Most Blessed Virgin Mary, when the course of her earthly life was completed, was taken up “assumed” body and soul into the glory of heaven, where she already shares in the glory of her Son’s Resurrection because she never committed any sin – never did anything wrong. We call on her help (intercession)  when we are tempted and/or fail.

The whole school attended the parish mass at 10am and took up many of the ministries which they all did so well.

Appreciation Spot

286-thank_you_balloonA huge THANK YOU to : Kath Rooney for her work behind the scenes organising the fertiliser drive, to the pamphlet deliverers, phone ringers, Hayley Gilberd and Maria Amey for sorting the envelopes and delivery maps, Alicia and Chris White for picking up the fertiliser and to the PTFA for supplying and serving the morning tea and to all those wonderful people who helped with delivery on the day. 636 bags were delivered which raised in excess of $3,500 for our school.
Together you all made an awesome team. A brilliant effort from you all.

Thank you to Mrs Sheehan for her work in preparing our Mathex teams for their competition last Friday.
