Term 3 Week 1 2018
Dear Parents/Caregivers
Nga mihi nui ki a koutou
Welcome to the new term. I hope you all managed to get some time to relax and enjoy the holidays.
In week four we will be undergoing our Special Catholic Character Review. The review is designed to assist the school to provide authentic Catholic education. One of the requirements of this review is to survey the school community. I will get this out to you all next week.
Enjoy your week,
Jacinta Cousins, Principal
Virtue of the Week
Co-operation – Mahi-tahi
Co -operation is working together for the good of everyone. It is a willingness to respect others and to follow rules which keep everyone safe and happy. Cooperation is being helpful to one another, sharing the load. It is joining others in order to do something that cannot be done alone.
We practice mahi-tahi when we:
- work well with others
- freely offer our help and ideas
- follow the rules
- do our part to keep a safe, happy environment
- when we disagree, do it peacefully
- ask for help when we need it.
Reflection of the week
Both readings this Sunday are about miraculous feedings which are alike in many ways and they focus on God’s loving care for us. God is always with us to provide for us even when it doesn’t seem possible. God is able and wants to supply all that we need and more.
Both readings also relate to the Eucharist.
Jesus gives himself as bread and is always there for everyone. He uses almost the same words in the Gospel story of the loaves and fishes as he used at the last supper “take this all of you and eat”
