Welcome to Week 2
We hope that the term has started well for you. I have been visiting all of the classrooms and everyone is working diligently to work to the best of their ability. I have spoken to some of our tamariki(children) in and around the school on how we speak and treat one another. I have shared that our expectations are that we use the ‘Golden Rule’ which is…
‘Treat Others how you want to be treated’
We want to see our tamariki being the..
‘Heart, Hands, Feet and voice of Jesus to all those we SERVE.’
St Peters College Year 9 Ambassadors arrived at school at lunch time yesterday as part of the Junior Leadership team. They spent time interacting with our tamariki and we look forward to seeing them every week. This is a living example of our we can SERVE our community as Pope Francis asks us to.
This month is a time where we reflect on our special saint for all – Mary. We are working on ways in which we can reflect more on the wonderful ways in which she lived out those virtues of FAITH, HOPE and LOVE. In class and throughout the school we will focus on Mary.
Blessings and thanks for all you do
Caroline and the team
Kia Ora and Welcome to…

In your child’s classroom this week
THE NEST: We have wonderfully hard working artists in the Nest creating ways in which they go ‘To Town’. They have begun their Technology Inquiry into Towers, brainstorming all that we know about Towers and then what we want to find out.
RAINBOWS: we are exploring what builders do. Yesterday amazing writing took place, which you will enjoy reading.
THE BELIEVERS: we are beginning to unpack their prior knowledge or thinking; what are Buildings? How they are built or designed? What tools are needed to build? This will then, support us in thinking about questions for our wonder wall. (“Under Construction” Technology Inquiry).
SUPERHEROES: we have been learning about the features of a non-fiction book and how to use them to help us research.
UNITED: United are working on summarising texts through identifying the main idea and finding supporting evidence.

Reflection
Friendliness – Whakaaro whakawhanaunga
Friendliness is being a friend.
It is taking an interest in other people.
It is going out of your way to make others feel welcome or to make a stranger feel at home.
When you are friendly, you happily share your belongings, time, ideas and feelings.
You share the good times and the bad times together.
Friendliness is the best cure for loneliness.
