Welcome to Week 4
I hope the term is going well for you and your family. There is the beginning of winter coughs and colds and we kindly ask that if your child is not well to keep them at home – we thank you in advance. Please let us know if your child is absent for the day. It is a legal requirement for our school to know where every child is. You can ring the office, leave a message or use the school app. We are in the process of reviewing our school web page, facebook and school app. We will let you know next week on all the ways you can find out what is happening at school.
Parking – Thank you to our parents and whanau who park outside the school gates before and after school hours. We ask that the school park is not used before or after school. In addition, a reminder that parking on yellow lines and over driveways is not allowed. There are times that staff are asking parents to move for the safety of the children crossing.
Blessings and thanks for all you do

For those unfamiliar with it, the name comes from its first word in Latin, Angelus, meaning angel. The prayer commemorates the archangel Gabriel’s annunciation to Mary of her vocation to be the mother of God and her response.
It consists of three verses and responses each followed by a Hail Mary, with a longer prayer at the end.
Try praying this short prayer in the Month of May
Kia Ora and Welcome to…

Numeracy this week is integrated with Inquiry, using rich tasks to problem solve addition and subtraction.
THE RAINBOWS: We have been discussing what Respect looks like. We are learning about the message that Jesus gave his disciples before going up to heaven which links to us using kind hands and voices.
THE BELIEVERS: This week we are taking part in 2 STEM design challenges, to help us to think and act like designers and builders. Please keep looking on seesaw for photo updates.
THE SUPERHEROES: In the Superheroes class this week we are working on explanation writing. We are also continuing our inquiry research into playground structures and forming plans to build our own mini-playgrounds.
IN UNITED: United are having their scripture reading competition this week to select those students who will then go on to represent Our Lady of Lourdes at St Mary’s.
