WELCOME TO WEEK 8 – it is hard to believe that the term has gone so fast. WE THANK YOU for your wonderful support and we look forward to the remaining three weeks.

CONGRATULATIONS

To our Year 3/4 Soccer team who have just returned from the Soccer Tournament – KA PAI!!! They made it to the final and then succeeded in being placed RUNNER UP! Thank you to the teachers and our wonderful whanau support. We look forward to hearing how our senior teams go.

Inquiry Evening
Please mark in your calendar the evening of Wednesday 3rd  July, 5.30 – 6.30. This will be a wonderful opportunity to see all the wonderful work your child has been investigating.
This is also an opportunity for you to share your ideas as we develop a new VISION leading us into a 21st learning environment. Your ideas and voice are important to us all.

Kapa Haka Whanaungatanga JUNE 19th
Our performance Kapa haka roopu will be performing tomorrow at The Regent.

11:50am – St Joseph’s School, Taihape (St Joseph’s Dannevirke to the side of the stage)
12:00am – St Joseph’s School, Dannevirke (St Peter’s College to the side of the stage)

12:20pm – Closing and Handover to St. Joseph’s Taihape.

Parent Teacher & Student Mid Year Conferences
Thank you to those who have returned your child’s forms.
Please ring the office if you have yet to complete this.

On Wednesday school will close at 1pm as teachers prepare for the Student Conferences.
Please make arrangements for your child/ren to be picked up.

Lucky Book Club
A reminder that Book orders close on Friday 21st June, 2019, at 9a.m.

Road Patrol and Crossing
Parents our road crossing is to ensure safe entry and exit from school.
Please ensure you are being responsible with your child by using this  and not crossing the road in another place.

In the Classrooms

THE NEST: We are beginning to find out about Matariki ( Maori New Year)as this begins shortly. We begin measurement for numeracy this week also.
RAINBOWS: are exploring what a good friend looks and feels like.  We are also starting to create and build our structures for our Inquiry learning!
BELIEVERS: This week we have Emily’s mum come into our classroom to talk to us about her job as a builder.  We are looking forward to asking her questions that we have prepared last week.  Let’s hope we gain lots of knowledge around ‘Construction’.
SUPERHEROES: We are working through Maths Knowledge and Strategies and working on developing those all important relationships.
UNITED:We are in the ‘Designing and Making’ stage of our inquiry. Designing a fair test on making our buildings/structures more earthquake resistant. Fabulous work is taking place.
