Kia ora koutou, Hello to you all,

Dear Parents, Caregivers and Whānau

We pray this email finds you all well in these uncertain times. We  have been thinking of you all over the weekend and have been planning and setting up online learning should we need to move into that area. Please be assured we are doing all that we can for your child – our school staff and Board are well prepared. Your children are happy and learning while at school and giving us their voice and ideas for their learning if/when we move to an online platform. Today I have the pleasure of teaching up in Room 8 and witnessing such Mercy and strength. Your children are a reflection of who you are and we give thanks for our community.

We have had a number of families who are choosing to self isolate their children from school due to their concerns with COVID-19. As a school we completely understand and respect the decisions you are making for your family and we will do all that we can to support you. I can assure you that we continue to work hard on our hygiene protocols and encourage all our staff and students to as well.

I have become aware of one family where the parents attended a function and had been in close contact with a person who has subsequently been identified as having COVID-19. As a consequence the whole family including a student from our school have gone into isolation and they have to date shown no signs of any infection thankfully. They are following the advice from the Ministry of Health and will keep us informed.

Please check the email address that you supplied us with as we will check in using this platform in  the coming days. Our teachers are busy getting organised for all possible scenarios and we will be in touch shortly with online options. We will be sending home all the links to the school Apps that we have so please keep an eye for that. Our senior rooms are putting together ideas for many other things to do during the day….ideas for family prayers, RE, Inquiry, fitness etc

In the meantime if you have any further question or concerns please feel free to email me at or you may want to seek more information at or

Our Diocese has put together a wonderful resource for us titled UNITED found at This will be updated every week. It is a great resource for families.

May God’s grace and healing hands be with our school, our community, nation and the world…

We are keeping you all in our prayers and thoughts.

Until we write again, be well

Caroline, the staff and Board
