Term 2  Week 7  2020

Welcome

Hello, Kia ora, Talofa lava…It is so wonderful to see our school community back together again. Thank you to you all for using the front gate before and after school. It is still vital that we track everyone in and out of our school environment.

At this time we also welcome MAXX to Room 2 – we wish you and your family abundant blessings. We are so excited that you have joined our school family.

Hauora, Well being, Resiliency lived through our Mercy values are the focus over these coming weeks as we journey these unknown times together. Last week we asked our children to share their feelings, thoughts and ideas in regards to the previous week’s lockdown – what worked well, what would have worked better for them and ideas for the next few weeks.

Likewise we also asked our community and we will share the summary with you as well. THANK YOU TO THE 28 families that responded – we know what a busy time it is.

Religious Education

Pentecost Sunday May 31st
And when the days of Pentecost were drawing to a close, they were all together in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a violent wind coming, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.
And there appeared to them parted tongues as of fire, which settled upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in foreign tongues, even as the Holy Spirit prompted them to speak

(Acts 2, 1-4).

Welcome to Samoan Language Week
The theme for Samoa Language week is ‘Tapena sou ōso mo lau malaga’ which in English means ‘Prepare yourself a gift for your travels’.
This year’s theme urges us to prepare for the journey ahead. It highlights the need to honour, respect and share the gifts of our life’s journey.

Reading Eggs/Eggspress Apps
Just a reminder of this wonderful programme. The school purchased this licence for every child in the school at the beginning of the year. Your child has access to this at home. Your child’s code has been given to them in various ways. Please use this wonderful resource at home.
