Term 4 Week 9 2020
Kia ora, Kia orana, Malo e lelei, Talofa, Bula vinaka, Namaste
It is hard to believe that this is the last newsletter for 2020.
What a year it has been for our school community with all the many challenges.
We emphasised our school focus on Hauora/ Well Being and Resiliency and with our MERCY values at the forefront. Our aim was to go gently in a year that had many new challenges for us all. We continue to keep our school families in our thoughts and in our prayers.
We did not quite get all that we had planned completed – with the building work about to begin. We have started on the pool with a new pump and filter and now the painting and cover will be completed over the holidays. Our school playground is in the final stages of planning.

Advent Blessings to you all

School Notices
Feeling Grateful… to everyone for a wonderful night last week. It was lovely to see so many of our community there and the abundance of gifts and talents that were on show.

Our Amazing Children/Tamariki
Yesterday we celebrated those who SERVE our school in many ways. We welcomed Councilwoman Mrs Hapeta to our school and she presented our Road Patrollers with their certificate of service for 2020.Mrs O’Connor thanked our librarians for the year and for their flexibility and respect they showed over these unusual days.Mr McEvoy presented the summer soccer certificates, followed by Mr Wilson who acknowledged our wonderful Touch Rugby players for the season. We also congratulated those children who played summer hockey.

Advent Food Donations
Every year we ask those who can to donate food items that we can collect to share with those less fortunate in our community. Any non perishable food would be truly appreciated. These can be dropped off to your classroom teacher.
Graduation / Thanksgiving Mass
We have our Thanksgiving Graduation Mass next Monday, 14 December at 7pm. We invite you all to come to this special moment in our school end of year activities and especially for our Year 6 children/tamariki and their families who are leaving our school/kura.
A shared supper will follow the mass and we ask for you to bring a plate of food to share. We would appreciate any help with the serving of the supper afterwards. We look forward to seeing you all there at 7pm next Monday.
Thanksgiving end of year assembly
This will take place on our last day of school, Tuesday December 15th from 11am. This will take place in our church. Please come along and support our final event for the year.
Reports
As mentioned previously we are trialling a digital form as well as printing off a paper copy with QR codes which you can access. These are due home on Friday, along with your child’s class and stationery list for 2021.
Focal Point have come to Palmerston North. They have given us 10 vouchers for our school which we will draw out at the final assembly. There is a colouring competition for your child to complete as well.
